Week 16/26 updates: Full academy branding, Digistore import and student search
Emails and social previews now carry your academy name. Customize the sender, footer and preview image, import Digistore CSV files and search students.
This week we worked on letting the platform fade into the background: your students should see your academy, not onlinekurshosting.de. We also added a much-requested Digistore import, dynamically generated social previews for each course and significantly better student management.
Less platform, more you
- Emails in your academy’s name: every automatic email, including sign-in links, course access, data protection confirmations and account deletion, now uses your academy name in the sender and subject instead of “onlinekurshosting.de”. Student replies go directly to your support email address.
- Customize the sender name, reply address and footer: the new Email identity section in settings lets you choose a sender name, such as “Max’s Academy Team” instead of your registered company name. You can direct replies to a different address from your public support email and add a footer containing a signature, address or legal notice beneath every automatic email. All three fields are optional. Leave them empty to keep the existing behavior.
- Your own social preview image: upload a dedicated 1200 × 630 image for previews in WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Slack. If you leave this empty, we use your logo. This addresses the problem of square logos appearing cropped in link previews.
- Dynamic course preview cards: every public course link now generates a designed social preview with the course cover, a prominent course title, and an academy name and logo badge, rather than just the cover image.
- Your logo as the browser tab icon: on your academy domain, the browser tab shows your logo instead of the platform icon.
- No more “onlinekurshosting.de” on error and loading screens: when a student encounters an error, a missing page or a brief loading state, they now see your academy name or no brand at all, instead of the platform name.
- Clearer support email guidance: settings now explain that the support email is used as the reply address for automatic emails.
New features
- Digistore import: moving your existing Digistore students to our platform? Open the Students page of a course and upload the Digistore participant export directly. We show a preview of product IDs and payment statuses. You choose what to import, and we create access without sending emails. Cancelled subscriptions retain access until their cancellation date, and uploading the same file again does not duplicate orders that were already imported.
- Student list with search and pagination: long student lists now load in pages of 25 instead of being capped at 200. Find students directly by email address or name.
- CSV import with just an email column: a CSV file containing a single
emailcolumn now works too, making it easy to import simple email lists.
Improvements and fixes
- Less noise in production logs: we fixed recurring 404 and 403 entries related to lesson notes, Chatwoot identity and course review eligibility. Server logs are now much clearer.
- Faster notes field: requesting lesson notes now returns
nullinstead of a 404 when there is no note yet, avoiding a brief error state in the frontend. - Clearer public-page metadata: sales pages and the student area now have complete Open Graph tags for social sharing.
- Updated documentation: the CSV import documentation now correctly explains that emails are not sent automatically.
What this means for you
- A professional presence: students see your brand in emails, link previews and browser tabs.
- Fine-tune things yourself: add a signature, legal footer or separate reply address without a support ticket.
- Move to our platform faster: migrate existing Digistore customers without triggering unwanted welcome emails.
- Manage larger courses: academies with hundreds of students now have smooth student management with search.
To migrate Digistore customers, open a course, go to Students and choose Import from Digistore. To customize your email identity or upload a social preview image, open Settings → About us. The new Email identity and Social preview image sections appear directly after Support. All fields are optional; without custom values, we use sensible defaults based on your academy name and logo.
